How much turf do I need?

Simply use our turf calculator to work out how many rolls of turf you need.

Where do you deliver to?

We offer delivery services throughout Essex and Suffolk. If you’re uncertain whether we deliver to your area, enter your postcode on our checkout page. If there are no shipping options found, it’s likely that we don’t deliver to your area. However, if you’re located just outside of our delivery area, please contact our office as we may be able to accommodate your request.

Can I have delivery on a Saturday

We currently do not offer delivery at the weekend on the website.

Can you deliver next day?

Orders can be made on our website by 10.00am for next day delivery (Monday to Friday).  Please note during our peak periods such as the beginning of Spring/Easter Holidays we can not always guarantee next day delivery.  The next available delivery date will always be shown on our checkout page.

How much notice do you need?

The earlier you book your order with us the best chance you have of receiving your order on your preferred delivery date. We can usually complete most orders within 48 hours.

What time will my order be delivered?

We will work with you to deliver your goods at a time that suits you.

Do I have to be at home to receive my delivery

It is not essential that you are present to receive your delivery. If you are not going to be at home please let us know where you would like your goods left.

What type of off-loading does the vehicle have?

For the majority of our deliveries we use our own lorry’s with a Moffatt to unload, we also have an smaller lorry with a hiab (crane) to unload our turf and bags.

Can turf/bulk bags be delivered over my fence or wall?

In some cases we will be able to deliver over fences or walls. Our drivers will only do this if it is safe to do so and we cannot guarantee this until the point of delivery.

Does the price include VAT?

All our prices include VAT.

Do I receive an invoice or receipt?

To ensure that you receive all necessary documentation, please note the following:

  • All orders will be delivered with a delivery note.
  • When placing an online order, a receipt will automatically be generated.
  • If you require an invoice, please send an email to our office at turf@oakleyturf.com, and our team will send you a copy.

Do you provide a laying service?

We have a selection of approved landscapers that can offer you a full turf laying service. Please email our office at turf@oakleyturf.com for more details.

Can Turf be laid any time of the year?

Turf can be laid all year round except in frosty or frozen conditions.

How much watering does my new turf need?

All turf needs to be kept watered until it has fully established. We have a helpful 10 step guide to watering a new lawn on our garden advice page.

What size are the turf rolls?

Our turf rolls are One Square Metre. They will typically weigh around 15kg.

How long can I leave my turf rolled up for?

For optimal results, we suggest that you lay your turf within 12 hours of delivery during the summer months, and within 24 hours of delivery during the winter months. In case of extreme hot weather, we recommend unrolling the turf and watering it as soon as it is delivered.

When can I walk on my new lawn?

You should not walk on your turf until it has fully rooted. You can check this by lifting the corner of a roll to see if it has rooted to the ground. This usually takes between 2-4 weeks.

When can I begin mowing my new lawn?

You should begin mowing your lawn as soon as it has fully established. You should never cut more than 1/3 of the full length of the grass.
